Captures anorexia’s heartbreak pretty well, doesn’t it?
Too bad it’s on a t-shirt. Same goes for “Ana’s Princess” or my least favorite, “I (heart) my eating disorder.
Classy. And here I liked Café Press. Not so much anymore.
In 2006, a student at American University in Washington, D.C., started producing t-shirts to raise awareness about ED. The front of a pale pink shirt reads: "20 percent will die from their anorexia. Some research indicates that anywhere from 5 percent to 20 percent of people with anorexia nervosa who don't receive treatment die."
And on the back:
"Is it worth this?"
The National Eating Disorders Association also sells message t-shirts, with less depressing readouts. A long-sleeved gray cotton has "Be Comfortable in your GENES" across the front, while the back reads "Wear Jeans that Fit the REAL You."
