Are you “drunkorexic”?

Ever heard of the term drunkorexia? I did not know that there was a word for someone who loves drinking alcohol more than eating until I heard the word drunkorexia. Drunkorexia is a slang term for the practice of limiting food intake to give way to alcohol drinking, Of course, this has yet to be recognized as a psychiatric condition, but statistics shows that 30% of young people aged 18 to 24 tend to be drunkorexics. The principle behind this is that both eating food and consuming alcohol can contribute to weight gain. In order to lessen weight gain, some teens prefer to let go of the food and just stick to alcohol. That way, they gain lesser calories than when they eat and drink at the same time. Apparently, these kids have already decided that alcohol is more important than eating. How awful will it be if these youngsters end up being drunkards and anorexics in the long run?
