Compulsive Overeating Is A Reality That Needs Help

Mostly everyone knows about anorexia or bulimia, eating disorders that leads to extreme weight loss but there are also other eating disorders that have an opposite effect and one of this is compulsive overeating.

Described as food addiction, people who suffer from compulsive overeating have a deep desire to consume food even when they are not hungry in attempt to mask their feelings and cope with stress or problems. They are ashamed, feel guilty and have low confidence because most tends to be obese or overweight but their coping cycle leads them back to consuming more food, thus leading to a never ending cycle.

Compulsive overeaters become obsessed with food that their thoughts become devoted to it. They fantasize about food and they continue to overeat leading to more weight gain and higher risk of developing serious diseases that may lead to death.

Compulsive Overeating is an eating disorder that needs to be treated. People who suffer from this should not be ridiculed because they are not in control. They need help and recovery through series of counselling and therapy should be done at the first sign of it.
