Let’s Go To The Movies

There is something about a good movie that can totally transform my mood and make a crummy day better. Maybe it’s the escape into another world, or the reminder that sad stories can have a happy ending. Whatever it is, I love curling up with a blanket and getting lost in the world of cinema.

My top faves feel-goods include:

Vicar of Dibley (technically, not a movie, but I have a season on DVD, so it counts – best BBC show ever!)

The Bucket List

Forrest Gump

The Breakfast Club

Footloose

Driving Miss Daisy

Erin Brokavich

28 Days

Mona Lisa Smile

Thelma and Louise

I recently came across a list of 25 Feel-Good Movies to Give You a Huge Confidence Boost (see link below). The list spans a wide range of genres and ranges from more predictable picks like Pay It Forward to the less obvious City Slickers. For the author of this list, each film brings a message of inspiration and makes him want to live life to its fullest.

What movies inspire you and give you hope on your tough days? If nothing comes to mind, try a few on this list and see what you think. You just may find the one movie that you come back to again and again.
