Portia de Rossi’s New Book Chronicles Scary Battle with Anorexia and Bulimia

"When I was anorexic it just seemed like I literally wanted to disappear. And now I would like to reappear." Portia de Rossi

In her new book, ‘Unbearable Lightness,’ Portia de Rossi reveals she once weighed a very unhealthy amount (no numbers here – the last thing we need are triggers).
her family gently intervened. Her mother and brother told her point blank that she was killing herself. Family support is so important when dealing with anorexia and other eating disorders, and they helped her turn the corner.

According to her new book, de Rossi is in a much better place now, happily married to Ellen DeGeneres and finally comfortable in her own skin. The scary days, it seems, are finally behind her. Being dangerously thin wasn’t something she was proud of and she is thrilled to be happy and healthy now.

Rossi, 37, will also share with readers what it was like to come out as a lesbian and the love she found with DeGeneres.
"It's so important to live an honest, open life," she told People last year, "And I didn't really realize that until I started doing it."
