Recovering from Bulimia Nervosa and Binge eating

For the case of Bulimia Nervosa, binge-eating (excessive eating) is followed by a attempt to compensate for the binge, such as purging (i.e. vomiting, excessive use of laxatives or diuretics) ,fasting or excessive exercise. And Binge-eating disorder is characterized by binge-eating ( consumption of large amount of food) but not followed by purging behavior. However for both type of eating disorders patients feel stressed, disgusted, depressed, angry, sad or guilty for overeating and loosing control. So to recover from both the cases psychological treatments are imperative. Treatment For Bulimia Nervosa includes nutritional counseling and psychotherapy, especially cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), or prescribed medication. Some antidepressants, such as fluoxetine (Prozac) may help patients who have depression and/or anxiety. Recovering from Binge-eating disorder lies in treatment options that are similar to those used to treat bulimia. Fluoxetine and other antidepressants may also reduce binge-eating and help alleviate depression in some patients. Patients with binge-eating disorder generally get bulky for which they may be prescribed appetite suppressants to help recover them from the effects of binge eating.
