We are all constantly bombarded with images of “ideal” women in television commercials, magazine advertisements, movies and on billboards. But what sort of affect do these images have on our psyches and behaviors? The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) believes that commercials can have a large effect on us — and a negative one. Obesity Surgery for Teens is Not a Viable Long Term Solution

Bariatric surgery, simply referred to as weight loss surgery, is being recommend to teens at an alarming rate.  While fewer than 1,000 teens have the surgery in the U.S. each year (versus 200,000 to 250,000 adults), it is becoming more common among adolescents as obesity rates continue to rise.
