Jennifer Love Hewitt to curvy girls: "Put on a bikini and stay strong"
Jennifer Love Hewitt has been dealing with body criticism since her days as a doe-eyed girl on "Party of Five."
But the 34-year-old actress is now at a place in her life where she's regularly appearing in lingerie on the show "The Client List," and the criticisms roll right off her back.
"I'm an actress, I live in L.A., I work in Hollywood," Hewitt stated in a recent issue of Women's Running magazine. "But I've learned that if you're too skinny, they'll say something about it. If you're not skinny enough, they'll say something about it."
In 2007, Hewitt was attacked by the media after some "unflattering" photos of her surfaced wearing a bikini. At the time, she posted on her personal blog that she wasn't going to be intimidated by the nasty comments.
"I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family," she wrote. "And like all women out there should, I love my body. To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini -- put it on and stay strong."
Loving her assets
In a 2009 Shape magazine interview, Hewitt said she prepares for each day by giving herself five compliments before leaving the house. The positive self-strokes give her "that little bit of extra confidence," she said.
And earlier this year, the actress even joked that certain parts of her body are definitely assets.
"If somebody was like, 'Hey, you know what? We would like to insure your boobs for $2.5 million dollars,' I'd be like, 'Do it. Love it! Why not?'" she told USA Today.
Her strategy for coping with all the body image pressure in Hollywood?
"I just try to feel good in my own skin as much as I can."
