Reports claim that Marie Caro blamed herself for her daughter Isabelle Caro’s death. Marie committed suicide those close to her claim she was filled with guilt over her daughter’s death.
Isabelle Caro was a French model, actress and author. Isabelle developed anorexia when she was 13 years old. She lived with it for 15 years until it stole her life on November 17, 2010.
Isabella did not become famous until she posed for an advertising campaign to raise awareness about anorexia in 2007. At the time she barely weight 80 pounds herself in the photo she is nude which shows only her skin and bones. It is a heartbreaking picture but we can hope that the campaign saved at least one young girl’s life.
It is hard for a mother or a father not to blame themselves for things that go wrong for our children. In this case, Marie was so overcome with the guilt of her daughter’s condition and the fact that she had her admitted to a hospital (Bichat hospital) that Isabella was adamant about not going to. Marie blamed herself for sending her daughter there and when she ultimately succeeded to the anorexia and lost her life the guilt continued to mount for Marie. Sadly, Marie could no longer take it and took her own life.
