Am in a horrible b/p phase (swing from extremes of AN to BN). My body has always been scarily resiliant but recently after b/p am absolutely EXHAUSTED - clammy skin achey & so tired. Why has this not happened before & should I be worried?

Hello....Your body is telling

Hello....Your body is telling you in it's own way that YES, you should be worried, and that you are damaging your body in some very serious ways. I don't know how long you have suffered from this combination of eating disordered symptoms, but the extremes of restricting and then binging/purging can be very hard on your body and your organs. It might be that you have not experienced this kind of reaction before because like you said, your body seems to be "scarily resilient", but your body can only take so much before these behaviors begin to cause possibly serious damage. The episode of clammy skin may have been a low blood sugar reaction, and/or a result of a serious electrolyte imbalance, which occurs when a person is binging/purging and dehydration ensues. Your body is telling you it is hurting. You need to listen to it. You could be damaging certain organs in your body, including your heart, which can be very dangerous, even fatal. I would strongly suggest that you see your doctor and have a full check-up, being honest with him about your ED behaviors, and look into treatment for your eating disorder. It's never too late to recover, but the longer you wait, the more damage you may do to your body. I know it's hard to believe when you are in the middle of it, but you truly can die from an eating disorder!! Please get the help you need!
