Hi: It sounds as though you

Hi:

It sounds as though you have been coping with anorexia and bulimia for a long time. It is not uncommon for individuals with bulimia to find themselves at a normal weight. Unfortunately, the act of binging and purging, including the use of laxatives for this purpose is extremely harmful to your body. It is also exhausting both mentally and physically to maintain your energy (especially with a young child) when you are starving yourself for a period of time, or even when you are overly focused on food.

Anorexia and bulimia are both serious conditions which require professional help in order to recover. These disorders are about much more than losing weight, and without treatment can lead to social isolation, depression, and/or severe health consequences.

It sounds as though your loved-ones are trying to encourage you to get some help. I would urge you to take the time to discuss your situation further with a health care professional, counselor, or medical doctor. You do not have to live with an eating disorder - and reaching out for support is an excellent first step in getting some help, and setting your mind at ease. Please take care of you - you're worth it!
