Is it truly possible to recover from bulimia? I eat approx 15,000-30,000 calories a day and throw up 10-15x a day. I have been bulimic for 16 yrs. I see no hope of recovery & no way out. Do you really think recovery is possible for such a severe ED?

Maybe you should check your

Maybe you should check your self into a clinic. the only way you will ever recover is if you truly want to. eating disorders are actually a mental illness in which you see your body image as distorted or 'ugly'. you really need to get help. you cannot be healthy if you have had it this long. does your family and friends know about this? if not tell them so that they can help you recieve the help that you need!

Hi: Yes, I do believe there

Hi:

Yes, I do believe there is always hope of recovery no matter how severe your eating disorder.

That said, you are obviously struggling with your bulimia. This has been going on for a long time (16 years) and it may require some intensive professional intervention in order to break the binge/purge cycle and start you on the road to recovery.

Eating disorders are lifelong conditions. It is never too early (or too late) to seek help. It is hard to be optimistic when you are worn down and discouraged from battling bulimia. The eating disorder often occurs along with other conditions such as depression and low self-esteem which make it all the more difficult to reach out for help.

Bulimia does not go away on its own. This is why it is so important to talk to someone about what is happening, and to get treatment for your eating disorder. Even if it feels hopeless at this point, I can tell you that it doesn't have to be this way. Please reach out for some help - you are worth it!

Take care.
