My 17 year old daughter was in treatment for an eating disorder last June (Renfrew Center), since her discharge I not been able to find a psychiatrist who accepts 17 y/o, insurance, or eating disorder patients in general. Can anyone help??????

I am a very concerned mom who needs to find Psychiatric follow-up for my daughter. I live on the far east end of Long Island, New York, and I am appauled at how many refusals I received for help due to the fact of her age (17), they just don't accept insurance (and expect that you will and can pay cash upfront for such needed help), or just plain hesitate when they hear a diagnosis of an eating disorder. I need help on this issue!!!!!!! Any suggestions.
